Spalding Slate & Stone Products
SPALDING
SLATE is produced from the Spalding Slate Quarry.
Spalding Slate & Stone Products have been operating the Spalding
Slate Quarry since 1991, however the history of the slate extraction at
Spalding dates back to the 1970s, when a quarry on the banks of the
River Broughton produced slate flagstone, examples of which can still be
found in use today.
Spalding
Slate is finely laminated slate which is at a premium in hardness,
compressive strength and resistance to abrasion, salt crystallization
and water absorption, when compared to other slates on the market today.
It's attractive Blue Grey colour with Iron oxide stainings of orange,
brows, yellows, reds, purple and greens have been blended naturally for
hundreds of millions of years.
Slate
being a natural product is an environmentally friendly building material
with an ability to be used in a number of diverse application.
